The Panthers were well represented on the 2009, Class 3-A/4-A All-Texomaland football team which was announced last Sunday.

A first team offensive selection went to Orion Thomas as running back. Thomas was the District 10-3A Most Valuable Player and led the Panthers in rushing with over 1,000 yards.

Shane Jones was the first team center as the selectors recognized Jones' value to the rushing game of the Panthers. Jones was the district's Most Valuable Offensive Lineman.

Solomon Biscarro, who led the Panther receivers with 612 yards in the regular season, was picked as a first-team receiver on the all-star team.

Picked on the second team offense was quarterback Chris Burge. The senior passed for almost 2,000 yards in the 10 regular season games and was the first team quarterback on the all-district team. Chance Grayson was second on the Van Alstyne team in receiving yards with 601 and he and lineman Zack Vickers were picked for the second team as well.

On the defensive side, the Panthers had three players selected for the second team, all linemen. Cameron Littrell, Mason Braddock and Lucas Love repeated their all-district selections by being picked to the All-Texoma team.

Littrell and Grayson are the only Panther players picked for the all-star team who are returning next year.
