Anna Teen Follows the Music

Brennan Luther is only a sophomore at Anna High School, but he spent his summer working with some rock and blues music legends.
Luther's guitar career started taking off when he became a finalist in the Camp Jam contest in the spring.
"We took him to the one-week camp they had in Dallas in June," said his mom, Kim Hurster. "He met Mark White from the Spin Doctors and learned some things from him. A good friend of ours, Dale Bordelon, took Brennan to see blues legend Walter Trout, and that's when the doors opened."
Luther had the chance to play for Trout and then was introduced to Zeke Loftin, who is the executive editor for "Twisted South" magazine. "Twisted South" is owned by Billy Bob Thornton and Jerry Lee Lewis. There's a video of Luther on YouTube playing with blues singer and guitarist Blind Dog Cooley at Keys Lounge in Fort Worth.
"It was awesome," Hurster said.
Luther also will get the chance to meet Jimmie Van Zant this fall.
The teen was invited by "Twisted South" magazine to participate in a photo shoot at the historic Warwick Melrose Hotel on Greenville Avenue in Dallas.
There the photographers put together an impromptu video of Luther.
"They said he was their inspiration to start a new South edition to their magazine introducing talented young artists musicians etc.," Hurster said. "They put his video on YouTube on their page calling him their inspiration."
Hurster said the video has led to sponsorship offers for guitars and other equipment.
A quick search of YouTube or the magazine's website, www.twistedsouth.com, leads to several videos of Luther in action.
His mom said those in the know believe it won't be long before many will know Brennan Luther's name.
"The Rock N Roll Physic is also saying Bren is truly talented and will be a household name within three years," Hurster said.
