Panther Thinclads Compete at District Meet

<p>The Van Alstyne Lady Panther cross country team qualified for a team spot in the regional meet with a third-place finish in the District 10-3A meet at Paris on Monday. Paced by the sixth-place finish of Kayley Trammell and Brianna Simpson's seventh, Van Alstyne fell just 16 points short of North Lamar for the second spot.

<p>On the boys side, the team finished one point behind Paris for the third spot, which would have earned the team a trip to the regional meet. 
</p>

<p>Drew Linnebur, Brian Dell and Levi DeMasters punched their ticket to the regional meet, finishing in the top 10.
</p>

<p>Linnebur led the Panthers, finishing sixth.
</p>

<p>The junior varsity girls team finished first in district, beating Anna by three points. Cheyenne Buck won the event and Tenielle James finished fifth.
</p>

<p>The regional meet will be held Nov. 7 at Vandergriff Park in Arlington.
</p>
