TxDOT to Begin Road Work in Grayson County
From Staff Reports
Texas Department of Transportation officials met Tuesday, June 8, 2010 with representatives of R. K. Hall Construction, LTD., of Paris, Texas in a pre-construction meeting devoted to traffic safety and construction procedures to be used during the Mill and Overlay of Various Locations in Grayson and Fannin Counties.
The work to be done will consist of asphaltic concrete pavement removal and hot mix, asphaltic inlays and striping. The locations to be included are SP 381 in Howe, FM 121 in Van Alstyne, FM 2729 in Tom Bean, US 69 in Bells, and BU 69 in Trenton. The Contractor has been granted 60 working days to complete this $376,976.27 project. The Contractor will begin setting barricades and signs on Monday, July 12, 2010. The contract is anticipated to be complete by August 31, 2010.
The traveling public is requested to observe signs and to be aware of lane closures and potential temporary detours. Caution and reduced speed is imperative when approaching these work zones due to the magnitude of the volume of traffic. Please remember that it is against the law to cut across on to unpaved surfaces and that traffic fines double in work zones when workers are present.
