Van Alstyne police interrupted an attempted burglary early Monday at City Drug.

VAPD Lt. Tim Barnes said more than one person tried unsuccessfully to disable the store's electrical and alarm systems. An officer arrived on the scene and gave chase to one suspect, who escaped capture.

Barnes said the suspects in the case did not gain access to the pharmacy. He said they face multiple charges once they are apprehended.
