Van Alstyne police made one arrest during an otherwise slow week for the department.

Officer Chad Vessels stopped a vehicle shortly before 3 a.m. last Wednesday on southbound U.S. 75.

The driver, a 27-year-old Denison man, was arrested and charged with a first offense of driving while intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor.

Officers also responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 1000 block of Greywood.

A window on a home was damaged with an air rifle.

Also during the last week, Van Alstyne police:

Responded to nine incidents.

Received 187 calls for service.
