Paris Sweeps Van Alstyne
By Jack Walker

Paris 61, Lady Panthers 45
The Van Alstyne defense had everyone on the Paris team accounted for except Tiara Hall. Hall had 29 points to lead the Lady Wildcat attack that kept their district record clean at 7-0. The win locks up a playoff berth for Paris.
After a first quarter run that saw the Lady Cats jump out to a 17-7 lead, the remainder of the game was very close as Van Alstyne battled back into the contest.
Mackenzie Allen's 13 points led the Lady Panther offense and Bailey Offill added 10 but they had no answer for the hot shooting Hall who was the only Paris player to score in double figures.
Despite losing, the Van Alstyne team in no way resembled the team that took a 72-25 drubbing in Paris earlier in the season.
Tonight's game against Anna is senior night for the Lady Panthers and the two seniors on the team, Bailey Offill and Kendra Cook will be honored.

Well, the old jinx theory didn't work. Neither mine nor Dick Vitale's as the Paris Wildcats beat the Panthers 56-41 last Friday to extend their district win streak to 30 games.
A 19-5 run by Paris in the third quarter blew open at game that was tied at 26 each at the half and dropped the Panthers into fourth place in the league.
Paris coach Billy Mack Steed gave credit to his team's defensive play against the Panther guards in his post-game comments to the Paris News.
They didn't seen to defend Chance Miller all that well as the senior guard nailed three, three-pointers en route to his 18 point night. Levi DeMasters added nine as Van Alstyne saw its league record dip to 2-3 after the loss.
After a Tuesday battle against Bonham at home, the Panthers host Anna tonight, completing a rare three-game home stand in district play.
