The Van Alstyne High School varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders will begin their annual two-a-day practices next week in preparation for the 2010-11 cheer season.

The squads will practice each day from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. in the VAHS gym perfecting the cheers, chants, dances and stunting techniques they learned while attending NCA camp at Tarleton State University earlier in the summer.

Varsity cheerleaders for 2010-11 are captain Christina Wiles, co-captain Lauren Himmelreich, Cheyenne Buck, Holly Fortner, Leslie Hillebrenner, Tenielle James, Megan Keathly, Hunter Randolph, Keely Rettmeier, London Smith, Leslie Zielinski and mascot Kasside Luce.

Junior varsity cheerleaders are captain Meg Jones, Lori Arion, Jessie Brown, Madeline Carroll, Chelle Davis, Jade Grider, Kyley Houston, Julie Kirley, Bailey Saxton, Somer Warren and mascot Emily Stanley.
